GALA Hispanic Theatre develops, produces, and presents a broad range of Hispanic/Latino theatre and music, from classical Spanish to contemporary and experimental Latin American plays and musicals.

For 50 years, GALA has served the diverse Spanish-speaking communities of the Washington metropolitan area, as well as non-Spanish speakers, through works presented in Spanish with English surtitles or bilingually. Our productions reflect and explore the cultural identities and realities of our communities and serve as a bridge across language, social, and economic barriers. GALA is committed to supporting emerging Hispanic/Latino artists through commissioning and partnerships that lead to the creation of exciting new work that will shape the direction of Latin American performing arts in this country and contribute to its diverse cultural mosaic.
