Caitlin Strokosch (she/her) joined the National Performance Network as its President & CEO in 2016. Under her leadership, the organization developed a new mission at the intersections of art, culture, and racial and economic justice in 2018. Caitlin previously served as Executive Director of the Artist Communities Alliance—an international association of artist residency centers—where she was instrumental in creating the Artist Communities division at the NEA in 2008, launched ACA’s regranting programs, and led several influential research projects, including “Mind the Gap: Artist Residencies and Dance.” She has served on the boards of the Chicago College of the Performing Arts, Girls Rock! Rhode Island, Grantmakers in the Arts, Louisiana Partnership for the Arts, and Performing Arts Alliance, as well as the advisory boards of Transcultural Exchange, Crosshatch artist residency, and Outpost Journal. Caitlin has a BA in music performance from Columbia College Chicago and a master’s in musicology from Roosevelt University, where her research focused on music as a tool for building communities of resistance. She is an avid costumer, a musician, and an award-winning dioramist.
