Alec De León (he/him) is a Program Specialist for National Programs at NPN. He is an advocate for artists and arts organizations, anti-racist and anti-oppression social justice, supporting living wages for artists, creative freedom, and the equitable distribution of resources for the arts. He holds an MFA in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a BFA in Painting and Drawing from Louisiana State University. His career in the arts has spanned 20 years, including work in commercial art galleries and as an Adjunct Professor at Towson University in Towson, MD. He is an alumnus of the 2012 NAMAC Leadership Institute and has served on numerous grant and advisory panels. His artwork has been exhibited in New Orleans, Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore and Florida. He is also the co-founder of the influential, yet largely unknown, psychedelic rock band, the Heatbunnies.
