Caitlin Strokosch, President & CEO: It’s not about NPN being the hero of our story. It’s about facilitating the heroes that are among us. This notion that the work we’ve done for 30 plus years in building community–physical, geographic community, and a community of peers, a community of thought partners–that we have done the work so that we can be committed to working and sharing and being open together. That we can be accountable to each other. That we all have a role to play in this.

This isn’t about leaving folks behind. It isn’t about chasing after a sort of equity “trend” that’s going to leave a lot of people out. It’s about… it is about movement building. And I think, really at the heart of that is this idea of moving away from transactional, colonial kinds of practices. And that’s… that’s heart work, not just programmatic work, and not just policy work.

You know, they say in the South, y’all means all y’all. All of us.
