Monica Tyran is an artist and arts administrator born and based in New Orleans, LA, with nearly 18 years of experience balancing her studio practice with a robust career in arts administration. She has honed skills in program development and strategic planning, fostering systems and processes that uphold the values of equity, justice, and sustainable organizational health. Monica is deeply committed to collaborative work, bringing together artists, designers, and organizations to create impactful programs and materials that drive positive change in the arts sector.

Monica’s career began at YAYA, Inc. (Young Aspirations Young Artists), where she created programs to provide youth artists with leadership and relationship-building training. She holds a B.A. in Visual Arts from Dillard University and an M.A. in Arts Administration from the University of New Orleans. Her artwork has been exhibited at notable venues including Dillard University, Louis Armstrong International Airport, the Contemporary Arts Center, and Stella Jones Gallery.
