International Creative Time: NPN Announces Creative Exchange Awards 2014-2015 for Residencies and Mobility

The Creative Exchange component of NPN’s International Program began as part of the Performing Americas Program (PAP) in response to a need to have deeper cultural exchanges between artists and communities in the United States and Latin America.

NPN/VAN’s newest program LANE, a multi-year capitalization initiative for organizations of color, geographically-isolated and community-based organizations, is being shaped by information from financial health analyses, partner input and a national advisory committee. Cultural Ex(change): Improving the Visa Process for International Artists

As part of its ongoing cultural policy efforts, NPN/VAN is concerned with the onerous and capricious visa process for international artists visiting the United States. The Performing Arts Alliance (PAA), of which NPN/VAN is a member, is working to improve the visa system in this country.

The NEA Wants You to Share Your Love of the Arts by Telling Your Story.

In celebration of the its 50th anniversary, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) is gathering stories about the impact of art on people’s lives. The NEA wants you to share why art matters to you. More information is on the website page itself. On September 29, the NEA will begin posting these stories on their website and promoting them across social media.

With funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, NPN makes semi-annual awards for projects that support the professional development of its Partners’ staffs.

We Appreciate the Love Shown on GiveNOLA Day!

Because of your donations NPN/VAN raised $1,932.00 on GiveNOLA Day. New Orleans area non-profits, including many of NPN/VAN’s Local Network Partners, benefited from the one-day giving event which saw 34,539 donors give a total of $4,083,031.49. Geoff Livingston, with Give Local America, a nationwide crowd funding event, stopped by Arts Estuary’s reception in honor of GiveNOLA Day, which was also featured as piece in the Huffington Post.

Last Call for Doin’ It on the Road 2015

The next and last stop on the Doin’ It on the Road workshop tour is on Thursday, June 25 at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, 608 New York Avenue, Sheboygan, WI. The workshop provides nuts and bolts info for performing artists that are interested in national touring. The free workshop is held from 4-6:00 p.m. RSVP here: abrusky@jmkac.org
