NPN divides the country into four regions (Midwest, Northeast, South, West), each served by an elected "regional desk."  The VAN Partners come together as one region and have their own regional desk.  The primary role of the regional desk is to maintain communication within the region while serving as a liaison between the NPN/VAN national office and NPN/VAN Partners.

NPN/VAN hosts Mid-Year Meetings (formerly Regional Meetings) annually, which are held in cities where NPN/VAN Partners reside.  Mid-Year Meetings provide a smaller group than at the Annual Meeting, where the NPN/VAN Partners can foster regional project development and provide opportunities to share strategies for social change.  Mid-Year Meeting discussions focus on topics such as cultural policy, organizational development, and professional development for both artists and administrators.  In an effort to inform and engage artists within the local communities, NPN/VAN uses the Mid-Year Meetings as an opportunity to gather and host a workshop for artists, answer artists’ questions about NPN/VAN, and share ideas and tools which can help artists move their work around the country.

2010

The dates and sites of the 2010 Mid-Year meetings for the NPN Partners have been set.  If you are not able to attend your own region’s meeting (we strongly suggest that you do), you have the option of selecting an alternate region’s meeting (see full list of meetings below).  If you cannot attend your region’s meeting, let Mimi know right away.  The four regions will be following the same agenda, which you will be able to download once it is available.

The VAN Partners will be following a different agenda and it will be posted here once it becomes available.  See below for information.

REMEMBER: It is a requirement for one representative from each NPN/VAN Partner to attend a Mid-Year Meeting.
